What Doctors say

DR KAREN CAMRIK (ACAROLOGIST)

As an Acarologist studying mites, I first have to magnify them four hundred times to see them, and then an additional 600 times in order to see their details. Dust mites live off dead skin cells that naturally flake off most often when we are asleep. The dust mites eat the flakes and excrete proteins into the air that cause allergic reactions in humans. This cloud of protein is not something you have easily get rid of unless you spray something that neutralizes it.

DR SHANE DORFMAN - MD

You may wake up tired and end up going through the day feeling poorly due to a number of allergic symptoms and conditions. These include: sinusitis, hay fever, itchy throats and eyes, breathing problems, and even asthma. One of the main causes of such allergies are dust mites.

In fact there are roughly 10,000 house dust mites in the average bed! The dust mite is a creature from the arachnid family, which feeds off the dead skin cells you shed every day. After excreting its waste, which is on average 20 droppings per mite per day, into your bed and home, these excretions form an invisible cloud of ‘dust’, which you then end up inhaling. This allows the harmful protein in the dust mite waste matter to set off the allergic reaction.

DR LEON STRAUSS - HOMEOPATH

Most people have dust mites in the upholstery in their homes. Dust mites start families and they feed off the skin cells we naturally and continuously shed off. The allergic response in human beings is an immune system reaction.  Some people may develop asthma, eczema, skin reactions, an inflammatory response on the skin surface itself. We need to sanitize that environment.

Vacuuming only removes the top layer of any surface and with that the active living cells on the top of the dust mite colony. The deeper layers still survive. Identifying the cause of why we get ill is very difficult. You can’t always identify what gave us a runny nose but we can eliminate the obvious factors.

We can spend up to eight hours a night lying on a pillow. We won’t want to be breathing in something that makes us ill continuously. Dust mites can be removed from your environment. They can be brought down to a minimum so that your immune system doesn’t react to them continuously.

DR JONATHAN KAY - HOMEOPATH

Do you want to expose yourself and your children to toxic chemicals, of which some are even carcinogenic? I’d highly recommend rather using a product that is non-toxic, without any cancer-inducing chemicals.

Babies can develop anything from small red marks through to rashes, to eczema through to the big problem of sensitivity to the allergens that could lead to lifelong complications of asthma.

3 in 10 patients seek medical assistance because of allergies. Many of my patients don’t realize that they actually suffer with allergies. They present to me with symptoms such as runny eyes, runny nose, blocked nose, wheeziness and other types of breathing problems, and itchiness.

MORNE PRETORIUS - PHARMACIST

Pollen, cat’s hair, dust - all of these things are actually protein. The normal reaction of the body is to attack this, and that causes severe allergic reactions. That's where the runny nose and all the sinus-type problems actually come from.

The dust mite excretes a protein that we inhale. MiteFree breaks down the protein. So when you inhale this now, there’s nothing that the body needs to react to get rid of out of the system.

The feedback I actually get from my clients is that MiteFree is really, really good.
