Snoring away at night?

If most bed partners were asked “which noise at night irritates them the most during their sleep?” Snoring would have to take first place compared to anything else. Snoring can be quiet annoying to the one besides you and some people have been reported to snore so loud that others can hear the snoring from the other rooms. Snoring is also closely associated to sleep apnea – which is basically pauses within breathing.

Snoring is that harsh noise produced while a person sleeps and is usually created when these individuals breed through their mouth. The soft tissue situated at the roof top of their mouth vibrates when the air is passed out of their mouth, producing the snore sound. It is not uncommon to find the cheeks, hand-in-hand with the lips and the nostrils all producing this orchestra in one go!

Sleeping on the side does tend to cut the snoring for most people because now of the positioning of the tongue and airways. The following problems are factors that cause snoring: weak throat, mis-positioned jaw, excess fat surrounding ones throat, alcohol and drugs. These are just a few but not the only factors that lead to snoring. Snoring should not be confused with sleep apnea even though the two do have a correlation.
